Theological Education and Seminaries
Erskine Theological Seminary – North America’s oldest continuing evangelical and Reformed Presbyterian. Set in a beautiful academic village of Due West, South Carolina, with campus locations in Columbia, SC, and Greenville, SC, Erskine is the Seminary of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Yet, the School has a rich legacy of cooperation with other Reformed denominations and historic black fellowships, like the African Methodist Episcopal Church. As of 2017, Erskine Seminary is the only accredited Presbyterian and Reformed Master of Divinity in Chaplain Ministries in North America.
Covenant Theological Seminary – The national seminary of the PCA in St. Louis, Missouri. The beautiful campus is set in one of the nation’s great cities.
Knox Theological Seminary – Set in the missions-rich field of South Florida and standing in the tradition of Old Princeton, the seminary, my alma mater, founded by D. James Kennedy, Dominic Aquila, and others in the South Florida Presbytery, is now training pastors and missionaries around the world.
New Geneva Theological Seminary – This seminary, in the Presbyterian and Reformed tradition, is a tremendous resource for ministry preparation in the Rocky Mountain region of the U.S. With close ties to Village Seven Presbyterian Church (PCA) and the Rocky Mountain Presbytery of the PCA, and with an abundance of missions agencies, military bases, and some of the most spectacular vistas in the world, New Geneva is poised to meet the needs of the Kingdom for the future in a wonderfully unique way.
Regent College – Vancouver, BC; is a solid place for tremendous cross-cultural missions training.
Reformed Theological Seminary – Independent seminary with a multi-campus system. Reformed and Presbyterian. I was Chancellor here.
Union School of Theology, Wales, UK – Graduate theological education on the beautiful grounds of Bryntirion House in Bridgend, delivering classical “Calvinistic Methodism” theology to prepare students for the pastorate and the mission field.
Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry – Traditional Anglicanism, evangelistic, and Bible-believing with a heart for missions.
Trinity Evangelical Divinity School for Ministry – In the tradition of the Evangelical Free Church, this seminary remains a solid evangelical and conservative resource for the Church.
Westminster Theological Seminary – Machen’s vision and a continuing legacy of solid, Biblical training for Gospel ministry in Philly. WTS remains a legend in theological education.
Westminster Theological Seminary-West – Outstanding combination of classical Reformed scholarship and vision for the pulpit all set in the beauty of Southern California and with a decidedly United Reformed Church accent!
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary – Under the inspiring leadership of Dr. Albert Mohler, this school promotes a healthy Reformed teaching that prepares preachers, missionaries, teachers, and scholars for ministry in the SBC and beyond.

P&R Publishing – P&R Publishers is an exceptional resource for sound Reformed and evangelical, inspirational, and theological works; their influence continues to grow, and we are all thankful for that
Christian Focus – Fast becoming the leader in Christian biography, children’s books, and great new theological and Bible study books; their publication is older classic devotional and theological works is greatly appreciated
Wipf and Stock Publishers – Eclectic new works, classic reprints, and several different imprints to achieve their publishing vision
Crossway – The publishers of the ESV offer commentaries, biographical studies, theological books, and more
Banner of Truth – Leading the way in Puritan works and more

Colleges and Universities and Resources
Erskine College: This historic college, set in a beautiful academic village of Due West, South Carolina, is a liberal arts college in the Presbyterian and Reformed tradition. Amidst the majestic oaks, the expansive greens, and shady benches, the neoclassical architecture buildings host a resurgence of learning in a Biblical worldview. This is the college of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, preserved as a treasure for the entire Christian Church.
Belhaven University: Out of Jackson, MS, and with campuses in Chattanooga and Orlando, this historic Presbyterian school is increasingly important in the education and preparation of the next generation of leaders, with a curriculum grounded in a Biblical and Reformed worldview
Covenant College: The denominational college of the Presbyterian Church in America, Covenant College is a leader in preparing young men and women for service to God and man in the Kuyperian tradition of faith and life
Grove City College: One of the most outstanding colleges in America according to ISI Publications, Princeton Review, US News and World Report, and most importantly, according to satisfied evangelical parents and students. With impressive Gothic edifices arranged and reflecting the conservative community it houses and situated in the charming, rolling fields of Western Pennsylvania, this highly-ranked Presbyterian college combines a solid Biblical worldview, commendable Western Civilization core course requirements, a spirit (and institutional commitment) of independence from government influence, a Calvinistic, conservative free-market ethos, with a premier faculty contributing to the well-deserved acclaim it is earning, this college is recommended as a first-class faith-formation quadrivium that will prepare students for greater service pro Deo et Patria
Mid America Nazarene University – This is my alma mater. I owe them a lot. Sometimes my religion professor even corrected my papers to make them more consistently Calvinistic, which he knew I was. He later became the college president, but not because of that!
Wheaton College: Let by the president, Dr. Phil Ryken, Wheaton marches forward with solid academics and a growing treasury of resources for cultivating the Christian mind.
Pepperdine University: If you have never stood on top of the mountain where this great Christian university sits and looked down on Malibu, you should.
For a listing of major colleges and universities with excellent commentary on departments, professors, and curricula, refer to Choosing the Right College by ISI Publications. “By far the best college guide in America” – Thomas Sowell. Soul Care
Trees.com is a beautiful Christian business that provides the best in trees, shrubs, and a rich variety of gardening supplies to help you return to your first occupation: tending the earth. For all of the years of my ministry, I have found that nothing is more therapeutic to a weary soul than (1) helping another person in need and (2) “digging in the dirt.” From yard design to tilling the soil, selecting the plants, and enjoying the unsurpassed pleasure of seeing God give growth to His glorious Creation, husbandry is what we were meant to do. This is why we are excited to have this beautiful ministry—and Trees.com is a ministry I commend—listed as a first under “The Care of the Human Soul.”
