EVANGELISM IN A SECULAR AGE

Christian Scholars Address How to Share the Gospel in a Post-Christian America

[CHARLOTTE, NC, August 1, 2019—] On Tuesday, September 17th, 2019, at 6:00 p.m., Erskine Theological Seminary in partnership with Outreach North America of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, the D. James Kennedy Institute and Wheaton College, are presenting a one-night-only seminar on “Evangelism in the Secular Age.” The evening of learning is part of a course being taught by Dr. Michael A. Milton called “The Changing Face of the American Church.” The special guest lecturer for the evening is The Rev. Dr. Rick Richardson, Professor of Evangelism at Wheaton College and the Billy Graham Institute. The event will take place at the beautiful and new church campus of All Saints Anglican Church in Weddington, North Carolina. The address is 5328 Hemby Road, Weddington, NC 28104. No reservations are necessary.

When asked about the event, Dr. Milton commented,

“North American culture is now characterized by new assumptions. These assumptions are essentially post-Christian. So, how does the Church effectively present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in such a time? We will seek to show how the culture of North America shifted in the twentieth century and, then, how to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in this context. The evening of learning is perfect for church leaders, seminarians, college students, and local churches.”

The event will be live-streamed through social media. The event is open to all. Refreshments and a book signing will follow the lectures.
