Our first pastorate was founding a new church and school in Overland Park, Kansas. This daughter of a pastor was now back in the ‘family business.’ She married me and served as pastor’s wife, Army officer’s wife, and, mostly, well, just my wife. And that is a tougher job than any I know.

The following content comes from the Erskine Seminary outreach, written by Mrs. Langley Shealy. I am deeply appreciative of her note to the Erskine Seminary constituency. Given that October is Pastor Appreciation Month, I share this with you, our readers.
A Tribute to the Angels of the Manse from Erskine Seminary
Clergy Appreciation Month is a special time that congregations set aside each year to honor their pastors and pastoral families for their hard work and sacrificial dedication.
Dr. Michael Milton composed and recorded this song dedicated to his wife, Mae in 2007. Since then the song has been of much comfort and encouragement to others. He shares it here with the words to bring blessing to those special women who follow in the footsteps of Sarah and who serve God, their family, and the Bride of Christ in a most wonderful way.
Mrs. Milton was once asked by a pulpit committee, “What is your role?” She responded with, “I take care of the pastor so that he can take care of you.” And there is so much in that one statement.
This is a song to try and express the admiration, love, and eternal gratitude that Dr. Milton and other pastors have for the indescribable gift of love and life. Thus, “Thank God for the Pastor’s Wife.”
