“Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath but also for conscience’ sake. For this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor” (Rom. 13:5–7).
Honoring our Allies
For Memorial Day weekend I hope to show honor unto whom honor is due through art. I hope to create artwork for our Armed Forces, including the Merchant Marine.
It was my honor to serve with the British Armed Forces on several occasions in my thirty-two years of service. I always found them professional, disciplined, and eager to serve. It became clear to me why we have a “special relationship.” Our heritage of English law, language, common historical roots, and commitment to representative government (whether Constitutional Monarchy or our Constitutional Republic). Our battle flags are often depicting the same battles where we fought side by side.
Thus, I wanted to also honor our closest ally in arms. Thus, I began with a rendering of the Special Air Service (SAS). A distinguished component in Her Majesty’s British Armed Forces, this elite unit, The picture depicts the insertion of the 21 Special Air Service Regiment (Artists) (Reserve) into a top-secret location in Libya.

We thank God for our British allies.
