Psalm 107:6-8

The image is a sunrise at beautiful Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. However, I write this in the vesper light of a days’s end. For I read tonight’s Psalm and think of the new “day” that God gave me. What a lovely Savior. In Christ, though I move towards the sunset of earthly life, I feel as if moving to a new sunrise.

I am the sinner in this Psalm. God mercifully saved me when I cried out to Him years ago. Mine was the double sin for I had been reared with the name of Jesus spoken each day in my home. I am without merit save for the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. As this psalm says so I confess: He put me on a path to an Eternal City. This is my testimony. This Psalm is my story. Thank God it can be your story, too. What wonder is ever before us.

“Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He put their feet on a straight path to go to a city where they might dwell. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his mercy and the wonders he does for his children” (Psalm 107:8-8 Coverdale).

    Michael,

What a good word you have spoken here! My story is like yours, and our happy destination, by God’s grace alone, is the same as well,

Your fellow traveler in the Narrow Way that leads to eternal life,

    Chris
