Christmas, among its countless other virtues in society, fuses the marvelous God-implanted imagination of a child with the glorious wonder of the Incarnation. The event forms an indelible impression that remains with the child all of the days of her life.
I composed To Bethlehem as I reflected on that inerasable time in my own life. So far away now it is forever inaccessible. So close it is forever present.
When I composed the song, I hoped it would connect with your own memories from childhood. If it warmed your heart all the better. If it brought a longing, then, perhaps that longing will lead you to the only One who can satisfy the longing: our Lord Jesus Christ.
I will let the song speak for itself. Listen for the sights and sounds and even the aromas, the vistas, and the feelings of that time.
The song was produced by Steve Babb in Chattanooga who added the interesting bass guitar style ala McCartney. I hope you enjoy it.
