Almighty God, to whom we must give account for all our powers and privileges: Guide the people of the United States in the election of a president, governors, and all representatives; that, by careful and prayerful study of policies and platforms, each citizen, and especially each of Your disciples, might exercise the right of representation earned through blood, from Bunker Hill to Fallujah, and fulfill their sacred civic duty of casting votes to that political entity whereby there may be faithful administration and wise laws, the protection of rights of all, including the unborn, women and children, the disabled, the marginalized in our land, and the aged, so that the Church and especially Your disciples, may live in peace in this nation, but particularly that sustaining the government of the People, by the People, and for the People, Your Church might be enabled to fulfill Your mission in the world; stirring up the old covenants that our Pilgrim forbearers made with You, O God; and no matter the outcome, resting in Your eternal arms, where there is everlasting safety and unending governance of all things, we offer this, our humble prayer, through the grace and name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
