“Some went down to the sea in ships and plied their trade in deep waters; They beheld the works of the LORD and His wonders in the deep” (Psalm 107:23-24).
I pray this morning for the officers and men of the United States Merchant Marine and remember their good work for our nation on the high seas of the world.
A Prayer for the Merchant Marine
“Almighty God our LORD whose only begotten Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, walked upon the stormy waters of Galilee, guard the lives of those uncommon few who in their labors do secure Thy common grace for us as they sail upon the magnificent and dangerous high seas; and as the intrepid Merchant Mariners make headway around the world give them spiritual vision to perceive Thy ‘wonders in the deep’ so that Thy glory in creation is magnified as they will retell the deeds of the Lord to their children’s children. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
