Professori im më tha këtë:
Si ju duken mbi një plazh ka shumë kokrra e rërës. Pak kanë parë një kokërr e rërës. Si ju duken mbi tokë ka shumë kombe. Ju keni parë Shqipërinë. Asnjëherë mos harroni.
My professor told me this:
“As you look upon a beach there are many grains of sand. Few have seen a grain of sand. As you look upon the earth there are many nations. You have seen Albania. Never forget.”
I thank God for this rich blessing. This morning as my family and I have had the opportunity to meet and get to know a wonderful Albanian couple who left the “Land of the Eagle” to come to America, I am reminded of the dignity, thrift, strength, spiritual fortitude of the professor who spoke those words. Our nation is stronger when such immigrants make there way here.
As for me I will never forget the privilege of holding one grain of sand and, thus, touching the shoreline of humanity in a new way.
