Ye that love the Lord , hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.—Psalm 97:10
Oh our Great and Mighty Lord of life, so high above the earth, dwelling in pure light, eternally love, eternally now, eternally One in Three, we come to Thee through Christ our Lord, Victor over Satan and Hell, to appropriate the Grace and Truth of this Word to those who, this very day, walk in the land of the wicked, and who, because of Thy name, O Father, are subject to the hand of the wicked—infants abused by demon-tormented minds, children stolen by wicked deviants, adolescents led astray by sensate powers, godly wives, beaten for the Gospel’s sake, by brute husbands, poor missionaries imprisoned by beast-like, State authorities for the name of Jesus Christ, pastors with families summarily discharged from their charges by devil-ruled, rebellious usurpers, righteous men and women in the marketplace denied their due by hateful colleagues on account of God, faithful artists, poets, actors, and writers who are shut out of gainful employment and the opportunity to express their gifts because of their faith, as well as Christian statesmen who are wrongly smeared with the muck of a corrupt, contaminated pit that breeds the diabolical politicians that seek to destroy them—grant that these and all who come under the influence of hateful authorities, for the Gospel’s sake, may know the powerful promise of this Word: that out of love of all that Thou lovest also proceeds a righteous hatred of all that Thou hatest; that in love, Thy saints are both preserved and, ultimately, saved from the clutches of a final, consuming evil, and that in this we may each carry forth in boldness to pray for each other and trust in all circumstances in Christ Jesus our Savior, who didst overcome the hand of the wicked on Calvary’s cross. Amen.
Composed unto the Lord God as I meditated upon Psalm 97:10, early in the morning.
